At first please visit “Online feed readers!“, now I want to write about the feed reading applications, all this applications don’t need an internet connection 🙂

There are many readers, some of them are free or open-source, anyway here is a list of desktop programs :

Straw (Linux) : Desktop news aggregation for GNOME

SharpReader (Windows) : SharpReader is an RSS/Atom Aggregator for Windows

FeedReader (Windows) : Feedreader is a lightweight open-source aggregator that supports RSS and ATOM formats

Novobot (Windows) : A better RSS news feed reader

NetNewsWire (Mac) : NetNewsWire is an easy-to-use RSS and Atom newsreader for Mac OS X

FeedDemon (Windows) : Simplify the way you read the web!

Hi :),
This is really a very wonderful idea!,eyeOS is a “Web Based Desktop System”, now with this system you can take your data and applications everytime and everywhere!
Take a look at these screenshots, and you can test it.

EyeOS is a free, cross-platform Personal Content Manager System based upon the style of a Desktop Operating System. The base package includes the whole Operating System structure and ten apps, as a Calendar, a File Manager, a Text Editor, an Internal Messenger, a Browser and a Calculator.
EyeOS’s is thought to provide a complete, scalable and free (GPL Licensed) Organization and Work System. It’s scalable, so everyone can port an existing PHP app to EyeOS and create a meta-package for installing it.
Easy and powerful Free CMS – EyeOS.
